Mary Virginia Frederick, 92, of Salina, passed away Friday April 19, 2019. She was born, Keytesville, Mo., to Robert and Mary (O’Bryan) Hurt.
Mary owned the Frederick Gift Shop, and wrote the Salina Journal food column for many years. She enjoyed cards especially playing with her many bridge groups. She married Robert Frederick in 1946, at the First Presbyterian Church in Salina.
She is survived by: a daughter, Martha “Marcy” Hanzlicek; grandchildren, Lauran Ray, Leslie Ray, Colby Hanzlicek (Abbie), Kirstin Hanzlicek, Mollie Miller, and Hanna Frederick Miller; great-grandchildren, Wiley and Sawyer Hanzlicek, and Nevaeh Lawler; and nephews, John, Mailand, Frank, and Carol Edlin.
Mary was preceded in death by: her husband of 65 years, Robert; daughter, Mary Lynn Frederick; and brother, Robert Hurt Jr.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
