Matthew Austin Padgett McCready passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 27. He was born December 8, 1994 to Carolyn (McCready)Augustine and Justin E. Padgett.
Matt was a cook and bartender at The Paramount Bar. He previously had worked at The Voo and was an assistant manager at Hog Wild.
He enjoyed playing disc golf, fishing, and ALL sports but especially the Miami Dolphins and KU basketball. He loved his family and friends deeply but especially being an uncle to his nieces. He loved his dog, Hause, so much he called him his son and took him everywhere.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Augustine of Salina; father, Justin E. Padgett (Dona) of Sneads Ferry, NC; sister Erin McCready of Salina KS; brother, Kyle McCready of Salina KS; niece, Chloe Whitaker of Salina KS; niece, Alexia Bass of Salina, KS; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Dolores Augustine; grandparents, David and Joy Padgett, and his brother, Timothy E. Padgett.
Friends are invited to a visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. on Saturday August 6, 2022 at Ryan Mortuary. Vigil services will be held at 3 p.m., followed by the family receiving friends until 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday August 8th at Ryan Mortuary.
To help pay for funeral costs, there will be a celebration of Matt’s life with live music featuring Tony Bowell performing and a silent auction at Big Booty Trudy’s, 509 S. Broadway on Sunday, August 7th at 3:00 pm. All sales from Trudy’s and The Voo from Sunday will go to the family for funeral expenses.
Matt had the kindest soul and biggest heart and loved making people laugh. He will be missed deeply and always loved by his family, friends, and everyone he met.
