Max Eugene Redding, aged 89, passed away peacefully in Salina, Kansas. Born on June 12, 1935, in Culver, Kansas, he was the cherished son of the late John F. Redding and Annie May (Fitzpatrick) Redding.Max attended Culver High School and attended Kansas Wesleyan. He proudly served in the Army Reserve. On April 14, 1956, Max married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, LaDonna M. Redding, and they shared 49 wonderful years together.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Redding and Annie May Redding, and his sisters, Donna Reynolds and Mayetta Longbine, all of Salina.

Max and LaDonna were blessed with three children: Ronald Redding and his wife Julia, Carol Redding McWhorter and her husband Greg, and John Redding and his wife Jennifer. Max is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Moore Redding, his grandchildren Tana and her husband Steven, Andy, Sam (Michele), Alicia and her husband Ryan, Collin, Carly, Emily, and Zach; and his great-grandchildren Tailynn, Tate, McKinley, Luke, Eli, and Mason. Max also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss him.

Max had a profound passion for agriculture, managing his Allis Chalmers dealership, Mid-Western Farm Implement. He was a respected figure in the community, known for his integrity and willingness to lend a helping hand. Max believed deeply in his role in the food production industry.

Max also had a love for draft horses. He was actively involved in the fair board and rodeo, contributing to the community’s enjoyment. Max served on numerous committees and boards, reflecting his dedication to serving others.

To know Max was to love him. He was a dependable and faithful servant, and he will be profoundly missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N Eighth, Salina, 67401, where the family will receive friends from 5-7, with a vigil service at 7.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Salina, Kansas. Burial will follow at Culver Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
