Michael Denzil Fallis, age 81, passed away quietly at his home in Salina, KS, Sunday, July 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1942, the third child of Denzil and Veola (Paschal) Fallis. Mike weighed only 3 pounds when he was born and often commented that he was the first baby to be in an incubator in the Ellsworth hospital.
He married Pauline Autenrieth on July 8, 1967 in Russell, Kansas. They had 3 children, Warren, Michelle and Tamsel.
Mike was a 1960 graduate of Luray High School, Luray, Kansas. He attended Fort Hays University.
Mike worked for the State of Kansas Highway Department and was an over-the-road truck driver. In 1975 he returned to his family farm at Luray and farmed along-side his cousin Nick Paschal until he retired. After retirement, he delivered semi-trucks for Truck Center Companies of Salina.
Mike was a man who never met a stranger and was known by many across the states. He took pride in his family, and was greatly loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Tim Polson, sister Karen Fallis and brother-in-law James Mull.
He is survived by Pauline of the home, children Warren (Angie) Fallis, and Tamsel (Lance) Sharp. A sister Lauda Fallis. Five grandchildren, Arelyn Seirer (Mykel), Haley Fallis (Derek Riley), Taylor Fallis, Gabe Schaefer (Trent) and Jacob Sharp, (Paige Nissen, finance’). Five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brynlee, Ryleigh Schaefer, Roland and Rhys Seirer.
Services will be held Friday, July 14 at the Community Church of Luray with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Services to start at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Vincent Cemetery with lunch to follow at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Community Church of Luray or Ryan Mortuary.
