Michael Leon McGaha was absolutely the most caring, loving, thoughtful, and amazing man. Michael left this world all too soon on February 2, 2022, at the age of 52 years old. He was born to Leon Eugene McGaha and Lois Marie (Kennedy) on December 30, 1969, in Newton Kansas.
Michael attended Salina Central High School and Kansas Wesleyan University before spending the bulk of his career at Exide Technologies. During his 32 years with Exide, Michael wore many hats. He held various leadership roles, including Formation Supervisor, Superintendent, and Department Manager. His understanding of integrity, generosity, honesty, and couth is what made Michael an exemplary leader. These are the qualities that has earned him trust and respect from his fellow employees and gained friendships that will forever be cherished through time.
After 32 years, Michael was ready for a change. He left Exide to embark on a new journey with XPO Logistics. His colleagues would describe him as having an infectious smile. Michael’s unmatched energy and welcoming smile would light up any room. Whether you needed a good laugh or a shoulder to cry on, he was always there for you.
Michael was very passionate about his family, racing, and football. His devotion to his family was obvious in the way he loved and cared for them. They could always count on him for anything, come rain or shine, Michael would always be there no matter what. In the summertime you could find Michael at the racetrack with Leon and Chau. Football season consisted of Michael, Chau, and Boomer rooting for the OU Sooners.
Michael’s selflessness was endeared by all who loved him. He will forever be in our hearts.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother; Lois M. McGaha in 2019.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Chau, his 4 beautiful children, Timothy McGaha (Destiny) and Tyler McGaha (Haley), both of Salina, Austin Huynh and Brandon Huynh, both of Kansas City, his father, Leon E. McGaha, a sister, Matilda Pruitt (Eddie) of Salina and two beautiful grandchildren, Leon A. McGaha and Logan McGaha.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford Street, Salina.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11:00am, also at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel.
Internment will take place following the funeral service at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
