Michael Woodrow Ross, 81, passed away December 24, 2020 in Waukee, Iowa. He was born July 11, 1940 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Ola M. Hull and Woodrow A. Ross. Mike attended Salina High School before leaving to serve in the United States Navy for four years.
Upon his return, Mike owned and operated Ross Truck Line in Salina for the next 47 years while also having his own cattle operation. Mike married Barbara Collister on December 27, 1964. They had two daughters, Lisa and Shelly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in 2017 and his parents, Ola and Woodrow Ross. Mike always lived life to the fullest by spending time with, and making memories with family, friends and his cattle.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Ross of Salina, Kansas and Shelly Renaud (Jon) of Waukee, Iowa and step-grandson, Bryan Renaud, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by two brothers, Duane (Jeanne) of Greenwood Village, Colorado and Richard, of Salina as well as five nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Sunrise Presbyterian Church with a burial service following at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary. Please join the family at the Salina Country Club following the service/burial to celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Friends of the Salina Animal Shelter or Sunrise Presbyterian Church in care of Ryan Mortuary.
