Monta Lou Hinkle, 78, of Minneapolis, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was born May 28, 1943, in McPherson, Kan., to Forrest and Jannie (Rhea) Haskins.
Lou attended Lindsborg schools and graduated from the Asbury Hospital School of Nursing in Salina as a Registered Nurse. She was a caregiver in the truest sense of the word and worked in the healthcare field until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and playing cards.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Plummer (Doug) and Wanda Cole (Dan); grandchildren, Drew and Alyssa Smith, Morgan, Vanessa, Grant, Hannah, and Aidan Peterson, and John and Sam Plummer; brother, Forrest Haskins Jr. (Pat); brother-in-law, Rich Pearson; and sister-in-law, Marcia Haskins.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; ex-husband and friend for life, Larry Hinkle; sisters, Jean Pearson and Lila Scroggins (Tom); and brothers, Billy (infant) and Herb Haskins.
A celebration of life gathering will be Sunday, December 19, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
