Nona Elaine (Shank) Boyd, 93, died May 26, 2020. She was born July 19, 1926 to Jacob Harvey and Mildred Elizabeth (Fahrbach) Shank on the family farm in Dickinson County.
Nona married Clyde Melvin Boyd on November 5, 1942. In addition to raising two daughters, she worked for 23 years as a meat wrapper at Dillons until retirement; she was the family’s official turkey carver. She was a prolific letter writer, crocheter, and quilter. She took great enjoyment in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Much beloved, she will be dearly missed.
Nona is survived by daughters Sharon Pettle (Jerry) and Pam Meehan; grandchildren Amy Pettle (Rob Beck), Jody Pettle (Chadd Schaefer), Traci Flickinger (Marty), and Holly Jo Bald (Bernie); great-grandchildren Lindsey Brown (Nathan), Jordan Flickinger (Kelsie), Aubrey Flickinger, Lillian Bald, Tess Schaefer, Henry Schaefer, Sydney Schaefer, and Miles Beck; great-greatgrandchildren Nolan and Aspen Flickinger; and her brother Kenneth Shank.
Nona was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clyde, and her brother, Harvey Kay Shank.
A family graveside service will be held Friday, May 29 at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park.
