Norbert L. Laue, 67, of Salina, passed away December 28, 2021. He was born December 12, 1954 in Washington, KS, to Norbert H. and Kathryn L. (Laflen) Laue.
Norbert was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on December 26, 1954. He moved to Salina when he was a year of age and lived in Salina the remainder of his life. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Norbert graduated from Salina South High School in 1973. One of Norbert’s favorite pastimes was hunting with his beloved dogs. He also loved to take joy rides on his Harley. Norbert was a life-long fan of Kansas State University, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals.
Norbert worked at The Salina Journal for 43 years. He began in the Mailroom at the age of 18. He later worked in Distribution, Circulation, Pre-Press, and the Press Room. He retired as the Production Director in 2018.
Norbert was described by family and friends as “one of a kind” who always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor.He was always cool under pressure and was eager to do whatever he could to help others.
He is survived by his spouse, Patricia Bokish-Laue; children, Krista Laue-Haywood (Jaxon), of Alvin, TX, Joshua Laue (Miranda), of Rockwall, TX, Joshua Bokish (Natasha), of Indianapolis, IN, Laef Bokish, of Thailand, Shanna Weiland (Gary), of Ponder, TX, Mark Bokish (Amanda), of Vacaville, CA, Geoff Bokish (Jessica), of Arcadia, NE, Brianne McMurtry (Dylan), of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren; siblings, Kathie Mahmoudian (Rahim), of Salina, Becky Chaput (Ken), of Wichita, and Patty Perrin (Lawrence), of Blaine, WA; and dog companions, Max and Ginger.
He is preceded in death by his parents and dog companions, Rusty and Sammy.
Norbert chose to be cremated. Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina.
