Norma Lee (Dick) Pekarek

Norma Lee (Dick) Pekarek, 90, of Salina, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021.  She was born September 10, 1930, south of Lucas, Kansas to Dan and Leora Dick.

Norma graduated from the Lucas High School in 1950.  In 1951, she married William “Bill” D. Pekarek at the Methodist Church in Lucas, Kansas.

Norma was a member of the University United Methodist church.  She was employed 28 years by USD 305, as an Elementary School Secretary.  She worked with many great Principals and teachers at Grace E. Stewart, Schilling, Lowell and finally, retiring from Coronado Elementary.

Norma was proceeded in death by her parents; Dan and Leora Dick, her beloved husband, William “Bill” D. Pekarek, a sister, Elva Christie, and brother, Dean Dick.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Lee (Brian) Larson of Austin, TX., her son, William “Bill” D. (Becky) Pekarek, II, of Kansas City, Kansas, 3 grandchildren; Dr. Sonya B. (Dr. David) Chao, Travis B. (Crystal) Larson of Round Rock, TX, and Wesley D. (Marjan) Pekarek of Lenexa, Kansas and 6 grandchildren; Collin D. Chao, Elise M. Chao, Brock W. Larson, Addison R. Larson and Evie M. Pekarek, and Whitley D. Pekarek, nieces; Mary Ann (David) Bond and Jerry J. (Gary) Mitchell.

Visitation will be 9:30am to 11:00am Monday, March 29, 2021, prior to her 11:00 funeral service at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.

Burial will be following at Roselawn Memorial Park.
