Orville Edward Nye, 94, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 19th.
Orville was born in Clay Center, Kansas on August 11, 1923, a son of the late Edna May (Rundquist) and Arthur Roy Nye.
He was retired as an auto mechanic. He worked at Warta Buick in Salina, for 21 years. Prior to that, he worked at various auto dealerships including Schoonover Motors in Clay Center, and Moorman Buick in Topeka.
Orville was an active member of the First Covenant Church serving as an usher and greeter.
He was the husband of Freda Jean (Craig). They were married on November 17, 1955 in Clay Center. She survives.
Other survivors include cousin William Nye of Eudora, Kansas; and close friend Michael Fabrizius of Salina, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his cousins Don Nye, and Ethel and Alice Laflin.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with Pastor Doug McHenry officiating.
Graveside service at Gypsum Hill Cemetery will follow the service.
