Paul Wayne Rader, 75, of Falun, Kansas was born on May 13, 1947 and passed away September 21, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center. Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, both his mother and father, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mr. Rader is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, Edward and Clinton Rader; one uncle, Wallace Rader; brothers, Dennis L. Rader, William G. Rader, Jeffrey D. Rader; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Paul was well liked by most everyone he met. He grew up in Kansas while living very close to many of his cousins and grandparents. After graduating from Wichita Heights School, Paul entered the United States Navy, serving four years off the west coast. He toured Vietnam waters while commanding a Boston Whaler and acted as a signalman on other ships. Later, Paul returned to the Navy and served off the East coast for two more years. Paul chose to attend a year at Butler County Community College then moved out west. Logging in Oregon country for a few years, then returning to Kansas to build pole barns. After his marriage, Paul chose to work in the security and construction fields. He also enlisted in the Kansas Army National Guard, where he chose to retire in 2007 after 29 years of service. In 1993, Paul was hired by the State of Kansas to help maintain the training facilities for the National Guard. He retired from the state at the age of 72.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 26th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.
Pastor J. J. Sexton will be presiding the final services at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 27th at Village Bible Church, 1301 Osage Avenue, in Salina, Kansas.
Graveside service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1920 E. Crawford St., Salina, Kansas.
Family requests nothing to be delivered to the home. Memorials may be made to Village Bible Church, Salina.
