Ralph Nelson, 81, formerly of Salina, Kansas, passed away February 3, 2024. Ralph was born November 18, 1942, in Salina, to Marvin and Velma Nelson. He worked in truck part sales, over-the-road trucking, and owned his own trucking company for years.
Ralph is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Linda; his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Nelson. He is loved and remembered by his children, Kim (Todd) LeSage, Raytown, Missouri; Larry Nelson, Oak Grove, Missouri; and Wayne (Paula) Nelson, Platte City, Missouri; his sisters, Margaret (Ted) Kolling; and Jean (Ted) Walker; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Ralph had many passions such as fishing, camping with Crossroads Camping Club, playing the guitar with a good friend, planting rosebushes in his yard, and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he served in several roles. Ralph was known for always having Werther’s candies in his pocket to give to acquaintances and friendly faces.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. all at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be held in Gypsum City Cemetery, Gypsum, Kansas immediately following the funeral.

Both of these organizations shared much love, care and compassion with Ralph and his family these last couple of years.
