Richard Lee Lehmann, 77, of Salina, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. He was born February 7, 1943, in Crofton, Neb., to Arnold and Violet (Overbeck) Lehmann.
Richard was a life-long educator, teaching 6th grade in Salina for 31 years. He was a lifetime member of PTA, served as treasurer of Salina NEA, Uniserve Representative and KNEA Representative.
Richard was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, serving in numerous roles including District Chairman and Commissioner.
He loved the outdoors and worked many years on Council Summer camp staff, served as a staff member on Charles L. Sommers National Canoe Base, received the Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, Chieftain in the Tribe of Golden Eagle, District Award of Merit, awarded the Silver Beaver, and was a staff member of many WoodBadge courses – serving as Course Director for course NC 305W.
Survivors include: his sister, Susan Mays; niece, Sandra Pohl (Nick); nephew, Edgar Tomlinson III (Lisa); two great nieces; two great-nephews; two great-great-nephews; and long-time friend, Ken Parry.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, sister, Jane M. Tomlinson; and twin brother, Robert Dean Lehmann.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 22, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina, with a luncheon and burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Museum of Scouting, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina.
