Robert “Bob” E. Pace

Robert “Bob” E. Pace, 81, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born July 13, 1943, to John “Jack” and Peonie (Dorsey) Pace in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bob attended Mehlville high school and graduated in 1961. After graduating Bob joined the army. While serving, Bob married Kathy Veits on October 3rd, 1964. After leaving the army Bob began working at Blue Beacon in 1976 later retiring in 1984 as senior vice president of operations. Bob helped found Geocore in 1990 and went on to retire in 1996. Bob was an avid hunter, his favorite game being ducks, pheasants, and turkey. Through the hunts his trusty hunting dogs were always with him, and he cherished and loved all the dogs he had. Bob had a special bond only a man and his dogs could have. Bob’s love of hunting led him to become the president of Ducks Unlimited for several years, helping to maintain and restore wetlands for waterfowl. In the 60’s and 70’s Bob was proud to earn his pilot’s license and flew as often as he could. Bob also enjoyed traveling with Kathy before she passed on August 3rd, 2002. He later remarried Rose (Jilka) Wagoner on February 24, 2006. Bob was a devout Lutheran and was actively involved in Christ the King Lutheran Church on Magnolia being the president of the congregation for many years and teaching midweek. Bob had a great love for family, friends, good wine, and a good cigar.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Peonie Pace, wife Kathy Pace, brother Donald Pace, and stepdaughter Katie Wagoner.

He is survived by his wife Rose Pace, sons Tim (Angie), Chris (Laura); sister Jackie (Howard); sister-in-law Pat Dutrack; his late brother’s wife Paula Pace, stepdaughter Elizabeth; grandchildren Alyssa, Bobby, Lucy, Emma, and Nash.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday January 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church. A Luncheon will follow the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Ducks Unlimited or Pheasants Forever in care of Ryan Mortuary.
