Robert “Bob” Hansmann

Robert “Bob” Hansmann passed away July 21, 2020. He was born July 8, 1925 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Clara and Tony Hansmann. No one could have had a more caring and loving Mom and Dad.

Just out of high school Bob enlisted in the Merchant Marines as WWII was ongoing.

During a leave of absence during the war, he was married to his high school sweetheart Lois Miller on October 8, 1945 at St. Joseph’s Church in Moorhead. While living in Moorhead, Lois and Bob were blessed with 4 children, Rick, Marilyn, Nancy and Carol. After moving to Salina, they were blessed with the birth of Theresa “Terri”.

Bob was proceeded in death by his Mom and Dad; his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; his brother, Jim; his sister, Mary; his son-in-law, Jon Fuhrman; and his beloved daughter, Theresa “Terri”.

He is survived by his son Rick (Marlene) Hansmann; daughters, Marilyn Fuhrman, Nancy Arrowsmith, Carol Garrett and former daughter-in-law, Pat Veach. His Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Great-great grandchildren: Tony (Gina) Hansmann (A.J. and Brady), Tonya Voltolina (Dakota, Olivia and Andrew), Erin McLean (Bailey Barry and Ella McLean), Clayton Thompson (Apollo and Amory), Aryk Weiss (Vincinnt), Jordan Peckham, Zach Weiss, Christian Weiss, Sean Fuhrman, Shanda (Mike) Baker (Ariel Craine and Ashton Craine), Travis (Carrie) Arrowsmith (Elijah, Charlotte and Samuel), Ryan Arrowsmith (Rigley), Nicole (Tom) Billings (Ashley, Katelyn, Emily, Haley and Riley), Phillip Garrett (Dane and Dash) and Allen Hansmann.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 27, at Sacred Heart Cathedral with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. The Knights of Columbus Council 601 and Salina VFW Post 1432 will be providing honors.
