Rochelle Rene (Munson) Lankhorst, 58, of Salina, passed away on January 3, 2024.  “Shelly,” a beautiful soul, was born on October 28, 1965, in Salina, and died from complications of a chronic illness.

She graduated from Salina Central High School in 1984 and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan.  She graduated from Crum’s Beauty College in Manhattan, and was a hairdresser in Salina for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Jeffery Scott Munson.

She is survived by her son, Jordan A. Lankhorst (Ben), of Lawrence, Kansas; her daughter, Shelbi N. Mckenzie (Montrell), her grandson, Lyric Jacobs, and her step-grandchildren, Jayden and Dreighton Mckenzie; her brother, Michael Munson (Cerci), and her two nephews, Corbin Munson and Cayman Munson; and her mother, Rita E. Peterson (Pete), and her father, John D. Munson, Jr. (Jody), all of Salina.

A private burial will be held later.  Memorials may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter.

There will be a “come-and-go” celebration of life event at Old Chicago in downtown Salina on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
