Rose Marie Merrill of Salina, passed away on February 10, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Rose Marie was born August 27th, 1942, to Wayne and Lois Graham in Belleville, Kansas. Her formative years were spent near Narka, Kansas, on the family farm. She graduated Narka High School in 1960 and studied Home Economics at Kansas Wesleyan University the following year.
One of the greatest joys of her life was reuniting with her first Love, Warren Merrill, and marrying him in 1961.
Rose Marie is preceded in death by Warren and her parents. She is survived by her children, Suann Merrill (Tana) of Topeka, Jeff Merrill of Brookville, Paula Morgan (Mike) of McPherson; her sisters-in-law, Andrea Dougan of Oregon, and Barbara Paddock of Missouri; grandchildren, Tessa Bolen (Dan), Kellie Sims (Richard), Jeremy Ford, Jesse Ford, Jessica Briscoe (Jared), Miranda Merrill, Ashlynd Merrill, and Paedyn Merrill; as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The memory of her spirit and solid faith will be cherished by countless others including beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rose Marie was an active member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, and Deacon, with Christian Education, Choir, and Mariners. She loved books and belonged to two book clubs. In addition to a life of homemaking, Rose Marie served as Resource Coordinator for the Presbytery of Northern Kansas for twenty years. After retirement, she served as Master Gardener and Master Food Volunteer for Saline County.
A Celebration of life service will take place at 10:30 am, Friday, February 17, 2023, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church. The family will receive visitors at the church, in the parlor, Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm.
