In 1963 and started my own business, Salina Engine Supply, which I ran until I retired. I loved to travel. I started my travels by my thumb in my early teens. I worked short periods in California, Oregon, Iowa, Missouri and Minnesota before moving to Salina. I have had a wonderful life trip! At first it was a little tough growing up on the farm in Minnesota during the 20’s and 30’s but, it was honing me in for the rest of my story and it was a wonderful story to the end! Only little bumps along the way. One thing, God took care of me all the way; I don’t know why? He must have thought I was worth it. I never forgot Him from Confirmation day. I loved my family and I am proud of all of them. I loved the west, the mountains and the desert. I loved music classic, early dance bands, and old westerns. I enjoyed Johnny Cash music. Later in life I made five trips to Europe; the first one in the military. I served my country in the Army Air Force with pride from Jan. 1943 to Dec. 1946 as a B24 Aircraft inspector at Tucson, AZ. in the Air Material Command and as an aircraft parts expediter in Germany in the 51st Troop Carrier Wing European Air Transport System. The military service had a big impact on my life. I attended many Air Force reunions until members became too few. We wintered in Arizona for l8 years after retiring. I am a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, Life member of the VFW, former member of the American Legion and Swedish American Ass.
