Steve E. Larsen, 90, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was born in Lincoln County, Kansas to Edward Leaman and Myra Marie (Ackerman) Larsen on January 21, 1932. He married Mary Lou Willcoxon on October 7, 1961, in Salina.
Survivors include his children, Dan Larsen (Nancy), Tim E. Larsen and Penny Larsen; grandchildren, Shannen Morrow (Jason), Ashley Larsen, Kody Larsen (Taylor), and Chelsolyn Larsen; four great-grandchildren, Allie, Taylee, Weston and Emeree; sister Agnes Larsen Stamm.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; parents; siblings; Oscar Larsen, Esther Steinle, Rita Lehman, Leo Larsen, Mark Larsen, Ivan Larsen, Michael Larsen, and Rose Mary Thomas.
He worked various jobs from ranch hand in his early twenties around Hays, Kansas; to construction in Hutchinson, Kansas. He worked at a grain elevator west of Salina, Kansas until he was drafted into the Army in 1956; where he was stationed in Italy until he came home in 1958. He returned to the grain elevator until he started his business, Steve’s Refrigeration Service, in 1963. He ran his business for 50 years until his retirement in 2013.
He was active member of the Salina chapter of the AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits since around 1975.
He enjoyed golfing with different members of his family and was looking forward to getting back to it this summer.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Ryan Mortuary.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 9, at Ryan Mortuary. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
