Terrance “Terry” Charles Headrick, 75, of Salina, passed away July 13, 2019, at Salina Regional Hospital, with his wife and daughter at his bedside. Terry was born at the home of his grandparent’s in Union Mo., Nov. 12, 1943, the eldest of three sons born to William Oliver and Helen (Sterling) Headrick.
Terry was raised in Carthage, Mo., and graduated from Carthage High School in 1961. Following graduation, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1965. Terry married (Mary) Ann (Royce) Headrick, Dec. 29, 1970. They have one daughter, Elizabeth (Headrick) Meares (David), and two granddaughters, Emily and Katharine.
Terry was a Police Officer with the Salina Police Department attaining the rank of sergeant and retired in 1989. He then was a courier for WPM Laboratories for 21 years. Hobbies included antiques, both collecting and selling, and Salina Community Theatre. He had participated either as an actor or backstage duties in 50+ productions at SCT.
He was also a faithful attendee to his granddaughter’s various sporting events and programs. Terry was extremely proud of his family, his military service, his Police Department service, and his Osage Indian heritage.
He is survived by: his wife, Ann; daughter, Elizabeth (David); his granddaughters, Emily and Katharine; brother, David; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dewane.
Cremation has been chosen. The family will meet with friends 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 9, at Presbyterian Manor, lower level.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Salina Community Theatre or Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
