MANHATTAN – Theda Mae Loehr, 90, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. She was born in Sedan, KS to Roy and Ada (Boeken) Comstock.
Theda graduated from the University of Kansas in 1953. She worked for Bendix in KC and Smoot Grain Company in Salina. Later she earned her teaching certificate from Marymount College and taught kindergarten at Whittier Elementary for 22 years. In retirement she enjoyed traveling, volunteering at the hospital and church, playing bridge, and making crafty things.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Loehr and sister, Maxine Hays.
Theda is survived by her children, Chris Loehr, Greg (Gretchen) Loehr, Diane (Craig) Reed; grandchildren, Brandon Loehr, Alan (Lindsay) Loehr, Samantha (Kailean) Courtney, Austin Loehr, Eric Reed, and Sean Reed; great-grandchildren Calvin Courtney and Emery Loehr; sister, Helen (Loren) Okrina; and brother-in-law, Reese Hays.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
