Verna May Linaweaver, 82, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 4th, at Village Manor, Abilene, Kansas.

Verna was born in Wishek, North Dakota on July 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Hulda (Schock) and Henry Hilscher.

On September 22, 1959, Verna married Maynard F. Linaweaver in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Survivors include sons, Richard Linaweaver, of Salina, Kansas, Ronald Linaweaver (Kim), of Salina, Kansas; daughters, Rhonda Burt (Kim), of Bennington, Kansas, Renae Green (Ron), of Salina, Kansas, Ramona Perez, of Abilene, Kansas; brother, Roger Hilscher, of Aberdeen, South Dakota; sister, Dorothy Black (Dan), of Cleveland, Tennessee; long-time companion, Pete Jorgensen, of Salina, Kansas. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Tisha Nickel, Chelsea Haines, Joshua Linaweaver, Amber Linaweaver, Dustin Linaweaver, Rebecca Dimaplas, Miranda Dimaplas, Rudy Dimaplas; 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

Preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Linaweaver; sisters, Genevieve Berger, Janet Wyatt; and brother, Paul Hilcher.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9th, from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm with family present from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 10th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
