William Vinton Weaverling, age 85, passed away due to pulmonary fibrosis on September 17, 2019. Bill was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, September 14, 1934. The son of William and Florence (Lohr) Weaverling. “Bill” is preceded in death by his parent; sisters, Eileen (Maurice) Byers and Phyllis (Charlie) Rhodes; as well as his first wife, Frances (Eastep). Bill, a US Air Force veteran, is survived by his wife, Betty; brother, Richard (Mary), Johnstown, Pennsylvania; son, William Doug (Rebekah), Salina; daughter, Lori Preston, Longmont, Colorado; stepsons, Dr. Garrick (Mary) Rettele, Coffeyville; Brad Rettele, Lawrence; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended loved ones. Bill served 13,000+ customers during his 61 years at Long McArthur Ford in Salina. Special gratitude to his First Baptist church family and caring team from Hospice of Salina.
Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 from 4 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis Ave., Salina. Burial will be private in the Roselawn Cemetery.
