A Salina woman dies in a fatal 2-car accident yesterday.

Salina Police say 78-year-old Dorothy Kempton died from injuries sustained in an accident that occurred at the intersection of Stapler and Indiana on Tuesday evening at 5:40pm.

Police say an SUV collided with a car she was a passenger in, at an uncontrolled intersection near Indian Rock Park.

Kempton was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, and died of internal injuries.

Her husband, 81-year-old Earl Kempton who was the driver of a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue was also transported to the hospital for observation.

Police say speed was not a factor and no citation was issued to 17-year old Shekhinah Jones of Salina, who was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon.
