Plan Calls for Pay Bump for Correctional Officers

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback is unveiling his 2018 budget proposal.

The 16-billion-dollar plan, which was presented yesterday morning in Topeka, includes more funding for public education.

Brownback wants to invest 600-million-dollars in additional funding on public schools over the next five years.

The plan also includes pay raises for correctional officers and more money for nursing homes and hospitals.
