A brief police presence at a Salina middle school early Wednesday afternoon was not related to walkouts earlier in the day across the country, or to any threats.

During the noon hour a couple of officers responded to Lakewood Middle School to assist the school resource officer. According to USD 305, it was in response to an incident that involved two students.

The situation was taken care of, and business as usual continued at the school.
