Prayer Vigil Planned in Assaria

The family of Lori Heimer is inviting the public to a prayer vigil in Assaria on Saturday evening – to not only remember Lori but also pray for answers in the investigation of her murder.

Lori’s daughter, Genell Heimer tells KSAL News that family and friends will gather at the newly refurbished Assaria Children’s Park at 9pm on Saturday, July 9th.

“We need answers. We are going to pray for the investigators and for God’s help to lead them to the truth,” Heimer said.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation have been following leads and combing through physical evidence collected at the Assaria area home of 57-year-old Lori Heimer who’s body was found inside on June 25th.

Genell says her sister is planning on making some opening remarks, to perhaps tell those gathered a ‘thank you’ for their support.

“We have felt so lifted up by the members of this community,”she said.

The family is planning for a few hymns, a poem and a time to pray with all who join in.

“The more the better. We need more prayer,”Genell Heimer said.
