A couple of “quick change” scammers ripped off the Salina Walmart store Tuesday evening.
According to Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney, a couple of men turned two small purchases in the electronics department into a $567 loss for the store.
Each man began a small transaction, of less than $4, at the electronics department checkout by paying for the purchase with a $100 bill. They then proceeded to confuse the clerk by making a series of requests to exchange several larger bills to smaller bills.
The men ended up walking out with their purchases, and the $567 in cash.
The suspects are described as black males. They left the store in a late model Mercury Marquis.
The incident happened between 6:24 PM and 6:30 PM Tuesday at the Salina Walmart located at 2900 S. 9th.
