River Festival Headliner Acts Announced

The three headliner acts and other updates for the Smoky Hill River Festival 2020 have been announced.

According to Salina Arts and Humanities, the headliner acts set to debut at River Festival, along with their primary media partners, are:

  • Cowboy Mouth, a rowdy alternative-rock band from New Orleans, last mesmerized audiences at the 2001 River Festival and is back with their high-energy performance and unique blend of pop, big-easy blues, soul, punk and redemptive rock ‘n’ roll. The band takes the Main Stage on Friday, June 12, 8:30 p.m. https://www.cowboymouth.com/
  • Phantom Blues Band, an internationally renowned two-time Grammy Award-winning group. This Los Angeles-based band explores everything from Texas blues to Memphis soul, with an injection of reggae for good measure. Supported by KYEZ 93.7, the band will perform on Saturday, June 13, 8:30 p.m. https://www.thephantombluesband.com/
  • Sunset Sinners, a collection of four of the region’s finest musicians, playing whisky-barrel rock and a fusion of Southern and 70’s rock with red dirt country. Among other featured Festival bands is Kyshona, a Nashville- based performing artist showcasing vocal stylings reminiscent of Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Al Green, supported by Power Hits 97.5, with four sets on Eric Stein Stage and Stage II, Friday and Saturday, June 12-13.  http://www.kyshona.com/

Returning acts to the River Festival include Acoustic Eidolon, a Festival favorite that continues to captivate audiences worldwide with a signature “new acoustic” sound,sharing boundless possibilities in blending Celtic, folk, world and Latin influences. The duo performs on the Eric Stein Stage and Stage II, Friday on Saturday and Sunday, June 12-14.  https://www.acousticeidolon.com/.

Also returning is That 1 Guy, with his pioneering main instrument The Magic Pipe, a monstrosity of metal, strings and electronics, on the Eric Stein Stage and Stage II, Friday and Saturday, June 12-13.  http://that1guy.com/

With more than 300 sponsoring families and businesses and 2,000 volunteers, the Smoky Hill River Festival is a success story in partnerships. Updates about the Festival Fine Art and Craft Show, Food Row, Artyopolis and more are forthcoming.

The Smoky Hill River Festival is scheduled for June 11-14, 2020. Hours are Thursday, June 11 from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, June 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is by Festival wristband; $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Daily wristbands for $10 are available same-day at select entrance gates. Children 11 and under get in free. Wristbands go on sale on Friday, May 1 at more than 40 Salina locations and in 17 regional cities.

The 2020 Smoky Hill River Festival is scheduled for Thursday to Sunday, June 11-14.
