The Salina Community Foundation has awarded nearly two dozen scholarships to youth around the area. According to the organization, over $65,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
Scholarships awarded include:
- The Alma Olson & Michael T. Olson Scholarship is for students attending or planning to attend North Central Kansas Technical College with a view toward obtaining a degree in one or more of the building trades. The recipients are Samuel Higgason and Joshua Pounds.
- The Betts Family Scholarship is for students graduating from Decatur Community High School. The recipient is Rex Diederick.
- The Booker T. Washington Scholarship is for African American students from the Salina area. The recipients are Destiny Allen, Damion Cooper, Dekeysha Cooper and Devin Smith.
- The Brian Clarke Garnett Memorial Scholarship is for graduates of Salina Central High School. The recipients are Alycia Buchanan, Andrew England and Bronwyn Ross.
- The C.L. Clark Scholarship is for students currently enrolled at the University of Kansas School of Law or Washburn University School of Law and who graduated in Saline County, Kansas. The recipients are Kelsey Hauserman and Laurel Michel.
- The Col. Delbert L. Townsend Scholarship is for students of Decatur Community High School. The recipients are Kelden Breth, Kyle Breth, Rebecca Wentz, Ashley Witt and Lara Zodrow.
- The David A. & M. Marguerite Parker Scholarship is for students of Tescott High School who are academically solid and have community involvement, but most likely will not be recognized as Salutatorian or Valedictorian of their graduating class. The recipients are Joshua Luder and George Torres.
- The Decatur Community Scholarship is for students graduating from USD #294. The recipients are Troy Juenemann and Grace Randel.
- The Erik Erickson Memorial Scholarship is for students graduating from Decatur Community High School. The recipient is Troy Juenemann.
- The Evelyn R. King National Honor Society Scholarship is for students at Salina Central High School based on criteria in the National Honor Society National Scholarship application. The recipients are Marysa Bradshaw and Daniel Villarreal Acha.
- The First Bank Kansas Scholarship is for students who are currently in good standing at Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, Kansas with preference to students working toward a degree in business. The recipient is Vince Johnson.
- The Gayle & Evelyn Richmond Scholarship is for students of Plainville, Stockton, Natoma or Palco High School. The recipients are Breanna Eulert, Arianne Fisher, Kourtney Grafel and KaiLee Homburg.
- The Glenn L. & Edna M. Mott Memorial Scholarship is for students graduating from Decatur Community High School. The recipient is Rebecca Wentz.
- The Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship is for Kansas community college students who have completed 2 years of coursework and will be completing their degrees at a 4 year post-secondary institution in Kansas. The recipients are Brianna Blackwell, Wendy Gong and Karley Kriss.
- The Jeanne & George Frisbie Scholarship is for hard-working students graduating from Southeast of Saline High School. The recipients are Calle Blaha and Lucas Dockter.
- The Jeanne B. Marts Scholarship is for students graduating from a Saline County high school who will major in elementary or secondary education. The recipients are Michelle Franco, Morgan Hauserman, Tanji Lewis, Paige Nurnberg, Hannah Schroeder and Madeline Woolsey.
- The Jody Fredrickson Nursing & Health Scholarship is for students graduating from Decatur Community High School who are planning to major in nursing or another health related field. The recipient is Troy Juenemann.
- The Kansas Federation of Republican Women Scholarship is for female students currently attending a Kansas college or university, with a declared major of Political Science, History, Public Administration, Healthcare, Law or Education, entering her junior or senior year of undergraduate study or attending graduate school. The recipient is Laurel Michel.
- The Kelling-Tomlinson Scholarship is for students from Smith Center High School. The recipients are Mariah Harris, Faith Karg, Tristan Sasse and Kale Terrill.
- The Mary Olson & Viola Olson Gustafson Scholarship is for students attending or planning to attend Cloud County Community College with a view toward obtaining a degree in nursing or a related medical field. The recipient is Cheyanne Hileman.
- The Mike & Mable Kelling Scholarship is for students from Hartley High School, Hartley, Texas. The recipient is Derek Wieck.
- The Orpha J. & Ernest Milbradt Scholarship is for high school students who plan to attend Kansas State University or the University of Kansas. The recipients are Linzy Kaniper, Keylee Kohlmeier, Gage Nichols, Ty Nienke, Garrett Schuman and Kade True.
- The Wally Beets-John Marino Scholarship is for students who are or have been employed by the Salina Country Club. The recipients are Riley Gates, Carly Sackrider and Hannah Schroeder.
