Salina Media Connection is getting a $10,000 gift.
According to the organization, the Earl Bane Foundation has gifted an equipment support grant The grant will be used to upgrade and add new equipment for editing and program development.
The new equipment funded by the Earl Bane Foundation will improve editing capabilities for volunteers, students and staff. Currently SMC’s equipment includes but is not limited to five different types of cameras, two types of editing software and other digital editing equipment available for members and volunteers.
SMC operates like a community media makerspace and is Salina’s TV station with programs on Cable Channel 20 and 21 which carry city, county and USD 305 meetings. Other regular programs are SAL News, Artist Express, Strictly Salina, Legislative Forums, Liberty Football highlights, Your City in Action, My Y Story, League of Women Voters Lunch and Learn events, graduations, parades and a host of other current event shows.
