Salina Police Log 12-6-16

Police made two arrests after being alerted that two males were trying to break into a vacant Salina motel on Monday afternoon about 3:30pm. Officers arrested 18-year-old Joshua James and another male who is 16, after police witnessed the two allegedly using a hammer to hit an exterior wall at the former Coachlight Motel, 1949 N. 9th. The two are now facing charges of burglary and theft. Damage to the wall is estimated at $30.

 

A student at Salina Central High School contacted authorities after her cell phone was taken on Monday afternoon. Police say the 14-year-old girl had placed her iPhone 7 in her book bag and left it on a bench in the locker room during her P.E. class. The phone is valued at $650.
