The 5th annual Gay Pride Festival comes back to Salina. It will be Saturday, June 24th, with a full day of events scheduled.
Live entertainment and an open-air celebration will be at Jerry Ivey Park’s Gazebo Stage from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A wide variety of allied community organizations will have information booths at the event.
This year’s theme is “Pride Perseveres.”
Intended as a welcoming event for all citizens, the Festival is free and open to the public. In addition, a free picnic will be made available from 12:00-2:00. Hot dogs and pink lemonade are provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish if they are able. All persons, regardless of orientation or identification, are welcome to share in the celebration.
The 4th Annual Stonewall Pride Dance will be the evening’s entertainment. It will be held from 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. in the Duke’s Room at Quality Inn and Suites, I-135 and Ohio. Wichita Club Boomerang’s crowd-pleasing professional Disc Jockey will feature a wide variety of music. Admission is $8 at the door, ID’s required. Parking is available on the west side of the hotel.
