A familiar face in Kansas politics is running for Congress.

Former Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt officially filed as a candidate in the Republican primary for the Kansas Second Congressional District seat yesterday.

Current Kansas Second District Congressman Jake LaTurner announced last month that he will not run for reelection.
