A pair of burglaries at the same Salina area business are this week’s Salina Crime Stoppers crime of the week.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday January 16, 2019, Saline County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 401 E. Avenue B, the old Metlcast business, for a burglary. Sometime between January 11th and January 16th, unknown suspect(s) made entry into the building. Suspects stole multiple items including a Thermal Dynamics Plasma Cutter, a Bluerock wire-stripping tool, an HP printer, Milwaukee work lights, Milwaukee sawzall, and numerous other construction tools and scrap metal.
On Monday January 22, 2019, the Sheriff’s Office again responded to the same address for another burglary. Sometime between January 18th and January 21st, unknown suspect(s) burglarized the building again. More construction equipment was reported stolen, including seven (7) oxygen acetylene torches, multiple Craftsman hand tools and a toolbox, and copper wire.
Total loss is estimated to be in excess of $10,000.
