Thieves broke into a construction trailer at the top of Coronado Heights and stole some high-end power tools.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says sometime between 12:40am and 7:30am Wednesday someone forced open the hasp on a trailer owned by Harbin Construction of Salina and stole an $800 Husqvarna concrete saw, a Hilti chipping hammer worth $1,500 and a 14-horsepower generator valued at $600.
Construction crews have been renovating the 80-year-old castle atop Coronado Heights with a plan to reopen the grounds and castle to the public this weekend.
Total loss and damage is estimated at $2,730.
