Severe weather rumbled through Kansas Wednesday evening, dropping heavy rain, hail, and even tornadoes.
Spotters reported brief rope tornadoes in parts of Ellis and Russell Counties. Twin tornadoes were spotted about 20 miles north of Hays.
In Saline County, heavy rain prompted flooding in some areas. Water flowing across Highway 140 between Brookville and Bavaria, and the resulting debris, made it nearly impassable. Small hail was reported in Saline County, along with wind up to 64 miles per hour.
After Wednesday evening’s severe weather, things are expected to calm down for the weekend with sunshine and high temperatures in the 60s expected Saturday and Sunday.
