A residential fire leaves a family homeless and investigators looking into what caused the blaze.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office reports that when crews from Rural Fire District #3 arrived Sunday evening at about 5:30pm, they could see smoke pouring out of a trailer home at 7232 W. Colt Road.
Lt. Stan Fruits tells KSAL News that Nicholas and Kylin McKenna along with three children ages 8, 4 and 1 escaped the home without injury.
The trailer is listed as a total loss at $10,000.
The American Red Cross responded to the scene to lend assistance.
The fire remains under investigation.
