A weekend DUI check lane results in two arrests.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a sobriety checkpoint early Saturday morning.
Motorists suspected of intoxication were given field sobriety tests. All motorists who failed were arrested for driving under the influence.
During this checkpoint, 77 cars were stopped between the hours of 12:00 AM and 2:00 AM. There were 2 DUI arrests made & there was 1 citation issued for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
The agency says that these checkpoints are designed to identify impaired drivers and remove them from our roadways. The intent is to reduce injury crashes and fatalities attributed to alcohol.
