A two-vehicle crash in rural Saline County east of Salina sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Buick Lucerne passenger car was headed east on Waterwell Road. The driver of the car failed to yield the right of way, and struck the driver’s side of a Mack truck that was headed north on Donmyer Road.
The car spun into a ditch. The truck came to a rest in a field to the northwest of the intersection.
The driver of the car, 75-year-old Carolyn Beetch of Carlton, and a passenger, 90-year-old Laverna Ernst of Enterprise, were both hurt. They were transported to the hospital in Salina.
The driver of the truck, 58-year-old Kenneth Cimler of Solomon, was possibly injured but was not transported to the hospital.
Everyone involved was buckled up.
The crash happened at 2:45 Thursday afternoon, at the intersection of Waterwell Road and Donmyer Road in rural Saline County.
