A tornado touched down during a severe thunderstorm that moved through south-central Kansas Monday evening.
Reno County emergency specialist Evan Seiwert says the tornado was reported three miles southeast of Nickerson on Monday evening. He said there were reports of a cabin and a farm house being destroyed.
Todd Strain with Reno County Emergency Management says power lines were also down. No injuries have been reported.
Strain said some parts of Reno County received 2 1/2 to 3 inches of rain. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Reno, Rice, McPherson and Harvey counties.
