Woman Accused of Stealing Father’s Gun

A Salina woman is accused of stealing a gun, and a small amount of cash from her father.

Salina Police Captain Chris Trocheck says that on Sunday, between 8:00 and 10:00 in the morning, a Ruger .380 pistol and $50 in cash were stolen from an East Salina home. 60-year-old Douglas Bethe discovered an open dresser drawer, and the items missing.

Trocheck says that Bethe’s 26-year-old daughter Kassandra was at the house at the time. On Tuesday police arrested her in connection with the crime.

Kassandra Bethe was booked into the Saline County Jail on a possible charge of felony theft.

Neither the missing gun, nor the cash, have been recovered. Trocheck says that Kassandra reports that she no longer has the gun because it has been stolen from her. Allegedly, it was stolen from inside her car.
