A Solomon woman is hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 east of Salina Thursday morning.
Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner told KSAL News at the scene that a Mercury Mountaineer SUV was headed east on I 70. The driver, 45-year-old Brenda McNair of Solomon, fell asleep. She veered across the passing lane into the median, veered back into the passing lane, before then veering back into the median and rolling several times. The SUV came to a rest in the median on its wheels.
McNair was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters. She was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center. She was buckled up.
Officers from Topeka who were headed to Salina for training saw in their rear view mirror the crash happen. They turned around, came back, and stayed on scene and helped.
The crash happened at around 10:20 Thursday morning near the Solomon Rest Area east of Salina.
